Made in 1909 The Lonely Villa centers around a family that barracades themselves inside their home after a gang of theives tricks the father to leave. After the father discovers what is happening to his family he races home to save the day. This is a good short simply because of the drama and tension they are able to capture in such a short amount of time. I found myself experiencing a genuine concern for the family as they struggled and waited for their rescue all while being harassed by said bandits. This film was able to help develop the dramatic style of short films.
