One of the great shorts by pioneer D W Griffith, The Burgler’s Dilemma, is a film that begins with two brothers bickering and as the younger brother is killed by his elder just as a young burgler enters their home. Seizing the opportunity to get away with a murder the older brother calls the police on the young burgler, who then needs to prove his innocence when he gets put on trial for a murder he didn’t commit. This was one of D W Griffth’s earliest works and still remains as one his greatest shorts.
